What is Photobiomodulation or cold laser therapy?
Photobiomodulation (PBM) is known by a few names including cold laser or low level laser therapy (LLLT). It is a pain free non-invasive therapy using LED and laser light to improve tissue repair in wounds and also reduce pain and inflammation in your pet. This therapy uses near infrared light to penetrate the cells and stimulates chemical reactions or photobiostimulation to accelerate healing of wounds and injuries, reduce cellular inflammation and provide analgesia for your pet.Cold Laser Therapy Treatments
Open wounds
PBM helps the bodies cells to heal faster by reducing inflammation associated with wounds, helping reduce oxidative stress and stimulating new cell growth.
Arthritis
Will reduce the swelling in arthritic joints and also assist with management of pain from arthritis
Degenerative disc disease
Used to decrease inflammation and stimulate circulation to attempt to slow the course of the disease.
Post operative healing and pain management
Stimulates the lymph nodes to help reduce inflammation and oedema. For orthopaedic surgery studies have shown a reduction in the time taken to weight bear on the limb post op.
